Experience From Aug to Sep
Who knew Broome has its own version of Stonehenge? For the past 3 years, thousands of people have gathered on the west end of Napier Terrace to witness the full moon rising at the top end of Napier Terrace and rise through "Fusion", the Entry Statement to Chinatown. Each month, as the Moon rises across Roebuck Bay to form the natural phenomenon called the Staircase to the Moon, it rises at a slightly different point on the horizon. By August it rises at 99 degrees east, which gives it the exact alignment necessary for the Stonehenge effect. On that one night of the year, the shire closes the west end of Napier Terrace to allow for a safe gathering of people to enjoy the phenomenon. Given the Staircase to the Moon occurs 3 nights in a row, you can now enjoy Fusion Moon on one night and the Staircase to the Moon on the next.
